Clarity 356 Get updates

Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 2, 2026

Clarity 356 ("we") makes the Clarity 356 app for iPhone and Android, and runs the website at clarity356.com. This policy explains what the app and the website do with your information.

The short version

Your data stays on your phone. Your verses, the apps you lock, and your unlock history never leave your phone, except the reference you look up with Import, as explained in Adding your own verse below. The Clarity 356 app has no accounts, no ads, and no tracking, and we don't sell your data.

Premium is different. If you see or buy Premium, Superwall, Stripe (in the US), or Apple handle that part. See Premium and purchases below. Our website uses Google Analytics, which is explained in Our website below.

What the app stores on your phone

  • The verses you picked, and any edits you made to them.
  • Your own verses and the tags you made (Premium).
  • The apps you chose to lock, their nicknames, and how long each opens after a verse.
  • When you unlocked each app.
  • A log of unlocks and missed tries, used for your progress in the app.

This stays on your device. We can't see it. Deleting the app, or tapping Settings → Reset Clarity 356, erases all of it.

Screen Time (iPhone and iPad)

Clarity 356 uses Apple's Screen Time tools to lock apps. Apple doesn't tell Clarity 356 which apps you picked or what you do in them. Clarity 356 only gets a private code for each app, plus alerts when an app's open time is up.

Usage access (Android)

On Android, Clarity 356 checks which app is open, so it can lock the apps you picked. This check happens only on your phone. It isn't saved anywhere else or sent to us.

Notifications

Clarity 356 sends notifications from your own phone (for example, "Tap here to type your verse"). They don't go through our servers.

App updates

The app downloads small updates from Expo (expo.dev), our update service. Like any website, Expo's servers see your device's IP address and basic device info (like app version and operating system) when the app checks for updates. You can read Expo's privacy policy.

Premium and purchases

Clarity 356 Premium is a paid subscription. It lets you lock more apps and unlocks all 60 verses in the deck, your own verses, and tags. The free version stays free, with 1 app and 5 verses.

Superwall. The app uses Superwall (superwall.com) to show the Premium screen and to check if you have Premium. Superwall gets:

  • Whether you bought Premium, and the status of your subscription.
  • Which Premium screens you saw, and what you tapped on them.
  • A random ID that Superwall makes for your device. The app doesn't send your name or email.
  • Basic device info, like the app version, your phone's operating system, and the country of your App Store account.
  • Simple counts that help pick which Premium screen to show: how many verses, your own verses, tags, and locked apps you have.

Superwall does not get the words of your verses, which apps you locked, or your unlock history. We don't use Superwall for ads or tracking. You can read Superwall's privacy policy.

Paying in the US. In the US, you can buy Premium on a checkout web page run by Stripe (stripe.com). Superwall shows you this page. Stripe asks for your email and card details to take the payment. Clarity 356 never sees your card number. After you pay, Superwall emails you a link to turn on Premium in the app. You can read Stripe's privacy policy.

Paying everywhere else. Outside the US, you pay through Apple's App Store. You can read Apple's privacy policy.

Refunds and canceling. Apple and Stripe handle refunds and canceling through their own systems.

Android. You can't buy Premium on Android yet. When you can, Superwall will get the same kinds of data listed above.

Adding your own verse

  • Import. When you tap "Import" (King James Version only), Clarity 356 asks bible.helloao.org, a free Bible text service, for that verse. Like any website, it sees your IP address and the verse you asked for. Nothing else is sent.
  • YouVersion. For other versions, the "Open in YouVersion" button opens that verse in the YouVersion Bible App or on bible.com. Clarity 356 doesn't send them anything except the link you tap. YouVersion's own privacy policy applies there.
  • Paste. Clarity 356 only reads your clipboard when you tap Paste, to put the verse in the box. It stays on your phone.

Our website

The Clarity 356 app does not use the things in this section. They apply only to clarity356.com.

  • Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to count visits, see which pages people read, and learn how people found us (for example, from TikTok or YouTube). Google Analytics uses cookies and sees your IP address, rough location (like your city), and basic device and browser info. We don't send your name or email to Google Analytics.
  • Google signals and ads features. We have turned on Google signals and Google's advertising features. If you are signed in to a Google account and allow ad personalization, Google may link your visit to that account. This helps us see things like age range, interests, and visits across devices, in groups, not who you are. It also lets us show ads for Clarity 356 to people who visited our site, if we run Google ads later. Google and other ad companies may use cookies to show you ads based on your visits to this and other websites.
  • Server logs. Like most websites, our server keeps short-term logs (like IP address, browser type, and the page you asked for) to keep the site working and safe.

You can say no to this tracking:

Email sign-up (website only)

If you join our email list from clarity356.com, we use Kit (kit.com) to send emails. You can unsubscribe at any time from any email. The app itself doesn't ask for your email. If you buy Premium in the US, Stripe's checkout page does ask for it, as explained in Premium and purchases.

Children

Clarity 356 is not meant for children under 13 and doesn't knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
